Mission

The St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, Portland, Maine, supports the community by providing a nutritious hot lunch Monday-Friday for homeless and economically disadvantaged Greater Portland Residents.

History and Current Programs

We are a volunteer based 501C3 nonprofit who has been providing support for the Portland, ME community since 1972. Governed by a local board of directors and staffed exclusively by more than 100 volunteers, we provide a hot lunch to approximately 140 guests each day, or 36,400 servings per year. We rely on the food and monetary donations to ensure that we can fulfill this need in our community.

Staff

We have no paid staff.  Through the time, talent, and treasure of our volunteers and donors, we are able to fulfill our mission.
